This pub is one of Manchester’s ale house gems. It is a beautifully tiled pub that holds many memories for drinkers of many a generation. It has a wonderful history and has been in situ since the 19th century and as such bore witness to Little Ireland, a slum district comprised of mostly low skilled immigrants who were eventually ousted by the Victorians to build the south junction railway line. It is ironic then that this pub, which is one of the few homes left for Manchester’s rock community, should now face an uncertain future as the prospect of Network Rail development looms. This pub is a symbol of true Manchester history
