Piccadilly Train station is the busiest transport hub in the city centre. It brings millions of people a year to the city and is much improved from the state of disrepair it was in during the 90s. I wanted to capture the sense of wonderment tourists must have coming to the home of The Smiths, Joy Division and the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. Its a feeling we've all had emerging into a major European capital. That's why I took this shot at the beginning of the day just as the sun is rising and begins to illuminate the platform so as to look like a golden Gateway.
