Oldham Street is one of the most vibrant streets in Manchester, home to Afflecks Palace, Night and Day, The Castle, Koffee Pot and many more institutions – it’s a place with a perma-buzz. That is of course during the day. I wanted to come here very early before the masses came out to frequent these places and to capture the city just waking from slumber. The sun had just begun to rise and a lone rider came towards me and the streets the cold shaded buildings hadn’t yet been graced by the light. It’s one of the most special feelings to have such a bustling part of a major city all to yourself.
