Manchester Pride has been beset with a series of PR disasters over the last couple of years, in the main owing to accusations that it had grown too big, staging events away from Canal Street and losing sight of the original community spirit. The decision was made this year to refocus entirely on The Village and with this came an added buzz to the area this year. There is always a great buzz of excitement the Thursday night before Pride and I like to go to and capture this each year if possible. The bars had done a great job this year of decorating the street with the rainbow umbrellas and this image really did match the feeling on the streets this year.
