The other side of this historic walkway is a controversial spot amongst Mancunians, as the council have put a glass dome there, which has polarised opinions to say the least – almost everyone agrees though that this view is one of the city’s most enchanting. The pedestrian caught between the twin leviathans of the Town Hall extension and the Central Library as the path winds to bring you out into glorious St Peter’s Square.
