The Manchester skyline continues to radically transform before our eyes, whether you are approaching the city or walking through it, you can’t help but notice the cranes towering above or their red warning lights twinkling in orbit above the city of an evening.  But it is not until you get some real distance that you can truly begin to appreciate the change that has happened in the city.  The changing skyline is a signifier of Manchester’s status as an international city in the 21st Century.  This shot is taken from near Hartshead Pike where you are able to appreciate the dense cluster of buildings that form the city’s new vista.
