This spot in Heaton Park was for a long time thought to be the highest point in Manchester.  That notion has since been disproven but regardless, the view you get of the city centre is unrivalled.  Before your eyes make their way to the horizon, where the evolving Manchester skyline awaits, you are treated to the verdant views of Heaton Park.  It is a wonderful contrast between nature and the city.
